Renewable Energy

What is Renewable Energy?

Renewable energy is power generated from natural, continuously replenished processes. Renewable sources of energy include energy generated by solar radiation, wind power, biomass, geothermal energy, hydro energy from watercourses and oceanic resources, biofuel and hydrogen generated using the above mentioned renewable resources. Biomass includes bio-degradable fractions of products, waste, farming residues (including plant and animal substances), forest residues and residues of industrial activity related with the above, as well as bio-degradable fractions of municipal and industrial waste.

Already today, we use renewable energy as wind power, hydro power and biomass energy is transformed into power supplied to our sockets.

At present, the share of renewable energy in the total electricity production is ca. 3.6%.
